This volume of Kleronomia includes 8 theological essays, a bibliographic bulletin and the season’s Chronicles.

Panagiotis Christou, studies an important work of Clemens of Alexandria, who showed a special interest in poetry and music. He analyzes the way in which he uses extracts, as musicological reports, from the Song of Songs in his main works Stromateis, Pedagogue, and Protrepticos.

Dimitrios Nikitas studies the issue of asking and answering, as means of enunciating the devil and confessing faith, an element of the baptismal practice of the Church in the 4th century AC. The writer studies the way and the character of asking and answering, as well as the time when this part was incorporated in holy Baptism.

Artemios Rantosavlievic examines the Sacrament of Marriagein the light of dogmatic theology. He also studies patristic texts and answers to the principal question “What does the Church bless through Marriage?”

Archimandrite Naukratios Tsoulkanakis extensively interprets the religious phenomenon of Anchoritism, which caused the division of the history of Christian ascesis in two different periods: the first from the apostolic years up to Anchoritism, which according to the writer is named unorganized ascesis and the second, the period of organised monasticism. The writer refers particularly to Tertullian.

G. Th. Bergotis presents the liturgical Memoranda or “ceremonial comments”, which are from the early Byzantine period. He examines historical, liturgical and theological problems, based on the texts of Basil the Great, John Chrysostom and Maximus the Confessor.

Nicolas Croussouloudis extensively presents the principals of the Latin Church at the island of Chios while and he also offers lists with the Bishops’ names.

Sot. Cadas examines the iconographed holy icon stand of the Holy Lands, which is in the Code 159 of the Holy Monastery of Grigoriou.

Finally, Theodore Zisis answers to the article of f. Ioustinos Popovic regarding the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the ecclesiastical dialogues.

In the end there is a bibliographic bulletin. The Chronicles present the 2nd Meeting of Theological Faculties, documents of the mixed Orthodox-Anglican dialogue Committee and of the 1st Pre-assembly Pan-Orthodox Conference.
