This volume of Kleronomia includes 5 interesting essays, a bibliographic ulletin and the season’s Chronicles.

Stylianos Papadopoulos, continues his work on Philokalia (Klironomia 8, 1977) regarding theological gnosiology according to the Niptic Fathers. Based on God’s knowledge according to Niptic Fathers, who make a distinction between the inconceivable substance of God and the knowledge of His energies, there can be no connection to Western agnosticism. They, also, believe that the divine energies of God and the unparticipating of His divine substance are not a result of a theological reflection, but spiritual experience of the Revelation and the participation in the divine glory, which is not a substance but an uncreated energy of God.

John Fountoulis, studies a particular way of versification of Psalter (Holy Monastery Limonos and Ipsilon in Lesvos). The distribution of Psalter is done in twenty kathismata. Each one has three stasis. Sixty stasis in whole, which were made by having as criterion the length of psalms so that all the parts would be approximately equal.

Archimandrite Naykratios Tsoulkanais refers to the biographical presentation of the personality of Neophytos, Metropolitan of Arta and Naupactos. In this short note, the writer presents his relations with the School of Makarius Kalogeras, in Patmos. These relations show us his interest in education. The relevant correspondence is presented in the end of the article.

Anastasia Tourta, presents a double faced icon, which is located at the vestry of the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of Vlatades in Thessaloniki, together with a considerable number of other icons and heirlooms. At the top of this small icon we see Christ Pantokrator, with the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, who revere Him. In the bottom, we see Virgin Mary, with the Archangel Michael and John the Baptist. The painting dates back to the palaiologian art of the 14th century.

Michael Kordosis studies old texts in the library of the Monastery of Vlatades or Blataion. In the list are included all the unknown publications, which are described in detailed in the second part of the article (p. 157-167).

The bibliographic bulletin has many interesting seasonal books. The Chronicles present the relevant lectures and documents of the A’ Pre-Assembly Pan-Orthodox Conference (21-30.11.1976).

This volume of Kleronomia includes 8 theological essays, a bibliographic bulletin and the season’s Chronicles.

Panagiotis Christou, studies an important work of Clemens of Alexandria, who showed a special interest in poetry and music. He analyzes the way in which he uses extracts, as musicological reports, from the Song of Songs in his main works Stromateis, Pedagogue, and Protrepticos.

Dimitrios Nikitas studies the issue of asking and answering, as means of enunciating the devil and confessing faith, an element of the baptismal practice of the Church in the 4th century AC. The writer studies the way and the character of asking and answering, as well as the time when this part was incorporated in holy Baptism.

Artemios Rantosavlievic examines the Sacrament of Marriagein the light of dogmatic theology. He also studies patristic texts and answers to the principal question “What does the Church bless through Marriage?”

Archimandrite Naukratios Tsoulkanakis extensively interprets the religious phenomenon of Anchoritism, which caused the division of the history of Christian ascesis in two different periods: the first from the apostolic years up to Anchoritism, which according to the writer is named unorganized ascesis and the second, the period of organised monasticism. The writer refers particularly to Tertullian.

G. Th. Bergotis presents the liturgical Memoranda or “ceremonial comments”, which are from the early Byzantine period. He examines historical, liturgical and theological problems, based on the texts of Basil the Great, John Chrysostom and Maximus the Confessor.

Nicolas Croussouloudis extensively presents the principals of the Latin Church at the island of Chios while and he also offers lists with the Bishops’ names.

Sot. Cadas examines the iconographed holy icon stand of the Holy Lands, which is in the Code 159 of the Holy Monastery of Grigoriou.

Finally, Theodore Zisis answers to the article of f. Ioustinos Popovic regarding the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the ecclesiastical dialogues.

In the end there is a bibliographic bulletin. The Chronicles present the 2nd Meeting of Theological Faculties, documents of the mixed Orthodox-Anglican dialogue Committee and of the 1st Pre-assembly Pan-Orthodox Conference.

This volume of Kleronomia includes 9 interesting essays, a bibliographic bulletin and the season’s Chronicles.

Silas Koskinas, Bishop of Amfipolis, studies the teaching of Apostle Paul on eschata. Paul, even though he did not do any systematic composition of Christian teaching, attempts through his epistles to answer to practical problems which troubled the Churches. According to him, salvation has an eschatological orientation but is realized in the present time through the Holy Spirit.

Jean Vafiadis examines in a short work the matter of Love according to Nicolas Kavasilas, which is identified with life in Christ. The terms that are used for love are many (filter, charity, affection, passion, friendship), but God’s love is active only with human will.

Athanasius Papas, Metropolitan of Eleutheroupolis describes in detail the portrait of Cyril Metropolitan of Mitilini, which is at the mansion of the Holy Metropolis of Chalcedon.

P.Drossoyiannis analyzes the characteristics of the frescoes in the region of Virgin Mary Forviotissa Aspou (Nicosia, Cyprus), based on professor’sKurt Weitzmann instructions, in 1106.

TheodoreNormanRussell presents the aspects of Anselm’sHavelberg and Nikita of Nicomedia, in 1136. This constitutes a systematic effort of understanding both sides: East and West. The writer presents the characteristic differences of both sides, as well as their mutual completion in a potential effort to unite the two Churches.

Archimandrite Nafkratios Tsoulkanakis studies the personality of Nikephoros Marthalis, Archbishop of Sinai in the 18th century. He also presents many epistles illustrating his work.

In the pages of DISCUSSIONS Professor Basil Stavridis attempts to evaluate the orthodox participation in the ecumenical movement (1948-1978), while John Romanidis studies the work of Professor Gerasimos Konidaris, related to ecclesiology and bilateral dialogues. There we also find an open epistle of Archbishop Athenagoras Kokkinakis, concerning the ecumenical dialogue of the Orthodox Church (June 1977).

The bibliographic bulletin has many interesting seasonal books. The Chronicles present lectures and documents of the A’ Pre-Assembly Pan-Orthodox Conference (21-30.11.1976).

This volume of Kleronomia includes 6 interesting essays and a bibliographic bulletin.

Metropolitan of Tyroloe and Serention Panteleimonas Rodopoulos researches the ecclesiological aspect of the 34th Apostolic Canon, which refers to the canonical and synodical relations of local Bishops with the primate Bishop of the Metropolis, in other words of an independent metropolitan region. The above text was the writer’s lecture at the 4th International Meeting of the Law Association of Eastern Churches (Regensburg, 19-24.9.1978).

Theodore Zisis comments on 10 points-phrases of ancient apologists, analyzing their historical and theological content. It is an important article, which clarifies the mistaken perceptions about the life of the first Christians.

Th. Nikolaou examines the meaning of Christian truth and ethics, in regard to Greek philosophy. This approach is based on the theology of Saint Clemens of Alexandria and his works “Pedagogical” and “Exhortative”.

Peter Meinhold studies the ecumenical importance of the work and the personality of Saint Athanasius. The writer analyzes four points: 1) the formulation of Christian understanding of God, 2) the monastic ideal, 3) the Canon of the New Testament and 4) his fighting attitude in the Ecumenical Councils.

Constantine Kalokiris, even though he isn’t a specialist nor on patristic neither on liturgical studies, analyzes the Canon on Resurrection of John Damascenes, with parallel passages from speeches of Saint Gregory Nazianzus (Speech 1 & 45).

John Kalogirou through the pages of DISCUSSIONS theologically estimates the 3rd Conference of Mixed dialogue between the Orthodox and the Old-Catholic Church. He also presents the detailed final Report (p. 177), as well as the relevant presentations (p. 186).

Lastly follows a bibliographic bulletin with interesting books.
