Antonios Kompou, Metropolitan of Sisanio and Siatista, does a systematic study on the Christian attitude towards the secular power during the years of persecutions. The martyrs’ testimonies give concrete examples of Christians’ attitude towards the persecuting sovereigns.

Rev.George Papadimitriou studies, in English, the way to unity with The Absolute, the Creator of all! In doing so, the writer attempts a parallel approach between Plotin and the patristic literature of that time, between action and theory.

Angelica Strati presents the mural decor in the chapel of Archangels Gathering in the Holy Abbey of St. John the Baptist in Serres. She also presents historical, architectural and iconographical elements of the Church, having a rich photographic material.

Constantine Perialas studies the rhetorical art of Saint Chrysostom, regarding priesthood in general.

Dr.Carla Spadavecchia presents to us the aspects of Saint Basil the Great about friendship in combination with the pagan literature of his time. She also studies the meaning of conciliation, as base of religion and education and concludes with the meaning of charity.

A. Bantella, P. Savvaidis and I. Duka study the problem of land-planning orientation of various Churches of Thessaloniki. They all follow the general south-eastern city’s orientation. This orientation changes according to the Churches’ places, in combination with the neighbourhoods, the streets’ orientation, the topography and the ground’s form at the region where the Churches were built.

The bibliographic bulletin presents many books of this period.

Eleytherios Raftis studies the institution and the Legal status of the Ecumenical Patriarchate from the Byzantine Empire up to the Ottoman Empire, as well as its modern history. There is also a similar work, in volume 11 of Kleronomia (1979), where Silas Koskinas, Bishop of New Yemen, presents extensively the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s role as a cultural power in America.

George Theodoroudis in his study examines the rhetorical methodology of Eustathios of Thessaloniki.

F.N. Nikitopoulou gives a bibliographic, review note on the publication of the “reward ”of the Holy Abbey of Saint John Theologos at the island of Patmos.

This volume of Kleronomia includes 3 theological essays and a bibliographic bulletin.

Panagiotis Christou mentions the various activities of Gregory Palamas, at the time of his prelacy. The writer, studies the Hesychast disputes, the Synod of 1351, his captivity and his action in Thessaloniki and Constantinople.

Bas. Fanourgakis continues the above research for Saint Gregory Palamas, especially at the time of his captivity (1354-1355) and gives us plentiful material from the letters of this period.

Christos Krikonis presents the republication of the newspaper Church Truth and the journal New Shepherd at the period 1919-1923.

The bibliographic bulletin presents many books of the period and works of the Patriarchal Institution of Patristic Studies of the same period.

This volume of Kleronomia includes 9 interesting essays and a bibliographic bulletin (review and books’ presentation).

I. Kalogirou makes an interesting study on the Christological foundation of the Orthodox Church’s teaching on the Virgin Mary. Through the description and analysis of important facts of church history (4th and 5th century) and the plentiful bibliography, the writer testifies the experience of the Orthodox Church on the Virgin Mary.

Ant. Papadopoulos examines the question of truth and the meaning of martyrdom. Through a biblical and patristic approach and also the presentation of various ecumenical texts, he analyzes the relation between faith and martyrdom. We find a similar work in Kleronomia volume 15 (1983), where Antonios Kompou, Metropolitan of Sisanio and Siatista, makes a systematic study of Christian attitude towards the secular power in the years of persecutions.

Vas. Kontovas presents seven manuscripts of the Church of Saint George in Chortiatis, Thessaloniki (chronology, material, dimensions, verses etc).

Dem. Constantelos studies the subject of the biblical structure of the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. The writer makes a detailed description of all liturgical texts from the service of Matins and the Holy Eucharist.

Eleuthere Tr.Raffis makes one more effort to describe the legal-canonical existence of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, from 313 B.C. up to the Treaty of Lausanne, as well as the role of the Ecumenical Patriarch asPrimus inter pares. There is a similar work and in Kleronomia volume 16 (1984).

DeaconJohn Chryssavgis studies, in English, the meaning of contrition in the theological thought of John of Climax, as a mourning-gladdening grief.

Athanassios Karathanasis, through the pages of Discussions, further critiques the study of Mr. Branousis,L'hellenisme post byzantin et l' Europe.Manuscrits,Livres,Imprimeries,Athenes 1981. Similarly Mr. Kon. Bonis makes a critical presentation of the work of John VIII Xifilinou, Patriarch of Constantinople, Interpretative teachings or Homilitarion.

In the end we find a bibliographic bulletin with interesting books of this period.
